I have temporarily stolen alt!Harry's LJ, since it seemed like the best place to do this, since anyone reading my or Harry's LJ will be reading this too.
I think I saw this ages ago and I am taking it and changing it.

And it's really not a long time in comparison to how long other people have been RPing.
Or if there are any particular prompts you think it would be interesting to see one of them answer, or places you think I should app them at - you never know I might take you up on it (after I've finished my Yuletide story).

Dear Doctor,
For what I tried to do to I apologise most profusely. I don't know if Sarah told you what she found me doing, but even if she didn't I can't keep it from you and still look you in the eye.
You see, I've been in love with Sarah Jane Smith for a long time. For all that time she's been married to a version of you, just in another universe.
I was reconciled to that fact, yet when I came here everything changed, for there was another Sarah here, who was not married. Upon learning this, I felt hope, even though I knew she was in love with you. It seems to be universal.
But before I could ever have a chance with her, she disappeared. The Doctor disappeared at the same time and I assumed they had left together. For this, I was angry with him for depriving me of that chance.
I was also angry at her for choosing him over me. And although I didn't admit it at the time, I was angry at myself for letting myself think she could ever feel the same way about me as I do about her.
I thought getting revenge would help me feel better. It didn't, of course, I know that now. And you, yourself, have done nothing to deserve it. But at the time I wasn't thinking straight. Sarah helped me see that and you should be grateful to her for that.
All I can do is express how sorry I am and hope you can find it in your heart hearts to forgive me one day.

First letter
Dear Doctor,
I'm writing to tell you what you did to me. I'm sure you don't know because you only think of yourself and your assistants. You took Sarah away from this place - from her home. I'm sure you're very happy together but spare a thought for those of us left behind, if you can.
For the first time in my life I had a chance with the woman I love most. I did not quite understand the relationships she had here and I was not going to rush into anything. I thought I had plenty of time. I cannot even be sure that anything would have happened, but now it never can. You never gave me the chance to ask her, or to say goodbye.
You hurt me. For that, I can never forgive you.
I hope it was worth it, Doctor.

The aftermath of the toxic rain
Harry haunted Sarah's house at night.
His sleep was restless: they frequented his dreams. Except it wasn't really them. Tricia had become Sarah, her hands burnt and useless. Ann was his mother, who was dead and he couldn't save her no matter how hard he tried. In Ben he saw Tommy, orphaned, or so the boy thought, and Harry couldn't tell him why he wasn't.
It would get easier, he knew it would. He'd dealt with similar crises before, and had patients die. But none of them had been caused by something so inexplicable and outside the realms of his experience. None of them had been spread across such a wide area and so many people. And none had affected him so badly.
He blamed it on Sarah's presence; on the Doctor's; on there being another Harry here, one more capable of dealing with this sort of thing. Maybe it was his new found knowledge of the Doctor's world; of aliens and time travel; of police boxes that were bigger on the inside.
He wanted to go home, back to the life he knew. Except he didn't because the Sarah there was unreachable. He'd always known that and he had accepted it years ago. But coming here, seeing other possibilities, made him reconsider, wonder what he could have if he wanted.
Except that no matter how she felt about him, Sarah was always in love with the Doctor. There was some sort of inevitability about that, if he could just learn to accept it. His head spun with it.
And he haunted her house at night.

04:25 pm - A small snippet of Harry's backstory
Harry dressed in his best clothes for dinner. It was his and Sarah's annual get-together, where they ate good food and she gave him her 'aliens really do exist speech'. It was true he had heard tales of alien invasions from others in UNIT but he had not seen anything himself, merely the results of their tangles with, well, something. Since then, all of the incidents Sarah had told him about that she swore were alien in nature had been entirely explicable.
He always listened, of course, it would be impolite not to, and his offer to pay was in part guilt over not believing her. Sometimes he thought the Doctor had brainwashed her, but when he suggested it she had threatened him in no uncertain terms. Harry had enough self-preservation skills not to try again, and as a result just went along with whatever she said when it came to TJ. It had certainly not done him any harm. Which was good because he liked the boy. And he had a fair idea what Sarah might to do him, should anything happen to TJ.
